Mike Stukel fixes a sediment trap to a buoy array

This sediment trap is affixed to a 100 m drogued buoy array (by CCE graduate student Mike Stukel) and drifts with oceanic movements. The tubes are filled with formaldehyde to preserve drifting and sinking particles that get collected. Water is analyzed for elements such as carbon and nitrogen and phosphorus and silica. 4/16/2007.
