DESCRIPTION:Preparing to enter the scientific work force after completing a
  graduate degree can be daunting at any time. The current funding uncertai
 nty adds a whole new layer of uncertainty. There is no ‘one path fits al
 l’ that will lead to your career goals\, but one of the best ways to pr
 epare is to learn from others’ experiences.\n\nThis year\, the LTER care
 er forum will focus on the role of environmental scientists in state agenc
 ies\, non-governmental organizations\, for-profit organizations\, and trib
 al communities.\n\nIf you are interested in pursuing a career outside of 
 academia -- or just learning what one might be like -- join us on May 7 fr
 om 1:00-3:00 PM EST/10:00-Noon PST to meet scientists working around the U
 nited States and learn about their career paths\, work challenges and bene
 fits\, ‘a day in their life\,’ and advice they wish they had known as
