SUMMARY:Todd Gilens: Hosted by LTER arts and humanities working group
DESCRIPTION:The LTER arts and humanities working group will host a virtual 
 get-together on Wednesday November 5 at 1pm EST/10am PST for those inter
 ested in advancing arts-humanities work within their sites and across the 
 network.\n \nOur November presenter is Todd Gilens\, an artist and resear
 cher whose practice bridges field science and public art. A scholar in res
 idence at the Andrews Experimental Forest Long Term Ecological Reflections
  program in 2011\, and a featured artist at the international science conf
 erence Resilience 2008\, he has utilized labs\, ecological field stations\
 , and wilderness areas as art-making spaces\, developing his work by learn
 ing from and assisting other researchers. Focusing on his experience as an
  independent artist working in the matrix of public\, scientific\, and man
 agement processes\, Todd will present "Reading Forest\," a National Fore
 st Foundation commission installed outside a US Forest Service visitor cen
