A Plateau in Global Warming

So spoke the New York Times: 13 June 2013.

The contemporary global temperature curve reveals decadal ups, plateaus and declines. The Times, in effect, calls for new research on multidecadal climate variations and as well as in connections with the ecosystem variability.

In adversity there is opportunity. Most LTER sites are and have been engaged in multi-decadal ecosystem-climate research as evidenced in a publication record.

Climate Variability and Ecosystem Response at Long-Term Ecological Research Sites (2003) edited by D. Greenland, Douglas G. Goodin, and Raymond C. Smith. Oxford University Press.
