The Biology Department at the University of New Mexico seeks applicants for a full-time (9 mo.), non-tenure track Lecturer II or Lecturer III position in the Biology Department beginning January 1, 2014.
This position is renewable and follows the policies for Lecturer renewal and promotion in the UNM faculty handbook. The principal responsibility of the Lecturer will be to teach two sections of introductory biology for health-related sciences (six credit hours) to non-major students per semester. One of these sections may be offered as an on-line course, therefore we seek someone who has experience or is interested in creating and teaching in an on-line teaching environment.
The successful candidate may also be expected to teach an upper division course in his/her area of expertise and is expected to participate on department committees and in departmental activities. Other opportunities for scholarly activities may include mentoring of undergraduate research, undergraduate advisement, or the development of new educational materials. Other service duties may be assigned by the department chair.
