January 27, 2026: Streamlining Data Management with Specify Software (2:00-4:00pm ET)

Speakers:
Aimee Stewart (University of Kansas, Specify)
Theresa Miller (University of Kansas, Specify)

Abstract: For over 30 years, Specify, now the Specify Collections Consortium, has been supporting biological research museums and biorepositories to manage their collection data.  The Specify team has been continuously working to streamline the digitization process so users can be as efficient and effective as possible by developing tools to bulk upload data, bulk edit data, bulk upload attachments, merge data, and get a collection overview, all to help not only make collection data more visible and findable, and therefore fundable, but to make the data as polished as possible. This webinar will show some of the most common ways Specify can be used to streamline the data entry, editing, augmenting, and sharing process, as well as look over the upcoming developments to continue this work.
