We’re excited to announce the second meeting of the LTER Network Book Club, organized by the Graduate Student Rep Committee’s Community Working Group!

This book club is designed as a fun, casual space for undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdocs across the LTER Network to connect and engage in conversations beyond day-to-day research.

We are reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and our next meeting will focus on the second section: Tending Sweetgrass. Please RSVP here, and please free to join us even if you haven’t attended before or haven’t finished the reading!

Why this book?
Braiding Sweetgrass invites readers to reflect on our relationship with the natural world, making it a meaningful and timely read for early-career scientists in the LTER community who engage deeply with ecosystems, stewardship, and sustainability.

Meeting Schedule:

  • Next Discussion Meeting: February 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM EST
  • Location: Zoom (link will be shared with folks who RSVP)

Who can join?
Open to all LTER-affiliated undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdocs. Whether this is your first time reading the book, a return to an old favorite, or only had time for a quick skim, we’d love for you to join! We hope you’ll join us as we build community, share perspectives, and enjoy thoughtful conversation together across LTER sites.

Please feel free to share this invitation with friends and colleagues in the LTER Network!
