We are pleased to announce the 2026 LTER Photo Contest, brought to you by the LTER Graduate Student Committee!
This year, the theme is “Science and Self” and we will be accepting one photo submission per category. We want to feature your beautiful study regions & research along with the amazing people that make it happen!
For “Science,” think a landscape of your LTER site, action photos of data collection, or your region’s flora and fauna. For “Self”, think a fieldwork selfie or group photo of you and your colleagues “getting the job done.” Bonus points (not really) if the two photos you submit are related to each other. An example of what we’re looking for is on the flier, a picturesque Adelie Penguin in the West Antarctic Peninsula, and two field scientists sampling their…sediment.
**We will be accepting photo submissions until October 30th!** Feel free to share the flier through your networks or on your socials (tag us please 😊). We’re happy to accept photos from ANYONE associated with your LTER site, to include students, researchers, and technicians!
