Opportunity Type:

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

Field and lab technicians collect samples of soil, water, gas, and plants from research plots. Technicians prepare those samples for laboratory analysis and archiving.  They enter associated data into spreadsheets.  Technicians are also responsible for laboratory and field maintenance, such as washing dishes, installation and removal of field equipment, and organization of research materials.

Desired Qualifications

Associates or bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, forestry or another related field.  Candidates must be efficient, detail oriented, able to work well with others and motivated to work outdoors, regardless of weather.
