The attached LTER information management system guidelines were updated in the fall of 2017 and approved at the December 2017 Executive Board Meeting. They reflect the current state of LTER information management and the establishment of the Environmental Data Initiative.

LTER Data Access Policy was revised at the 2017 Science Council Meeting to reflect new data sharing standards. 

Network bylaws were revised at the 2017 Science Council Meeting to include the Director of the Network Communications Office as a voting member of the Executive Board and the Director of the Environmental Data Initiative as an ex officio member of the Executive Board.

NSF Solicitation (2016) for new LTER sites. 

This document describes the process by which new books can be included in the US LTER book series. Authors should reach out to the publications committee as early in the development process as possible.

Individual responses will be reserved for review by the LTER Network
Office and the 2015 LTER ASM Program Committee since some responses
include reference to individuals, and some taken individually do not
reflect the consensus – although all comments will be considered for the
2015 program.

This solicitation formalizes the basic requirements and expectations of all Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) proposals.

At the current time, the LTER program is accepting only renewal proposals from existing projects.

Should funds become available to support new sites, a Dear Colleague Letter or a revised solicitation will be released specifying the criteria for an open competition.
