The LTER 2012 All Scientists Meeting (ASM) Program Committee invites all interested scientists to submit proposals for Working Groups to be held at the 2012 ASM. Submissions can be made at the ASM Website at: http://asm2012.lternet.edu/
Working Group meetings are one of the highlights of the ASM and provide an opportunity for LTER researchers to exchange ideas, discuss and plan research, as well as work on proposals and publications. The working groups are meant to be an open forum with a variety of formats to meet the objectives of the meeting organizers.
The Program Committee has extended submission time-line over previous meetings and will accept most proposals for working groups until August 1, 2012. In a few cases, overlap between working groups may result in a request to merge groups or modify content. Therefore, it is in your best interest to submit your working group proposal early in order to allow the Program Committee to sort out any redundancy. We will follow the schedule shown below:
- 1 April 2012 – Opening date for submission of working group proposals
- 1 August 2012 – Closing date for submission of working group proposals
- 15 August 2012 – Confirmation of working groups sent to organizers
- 1 September 2012 – Final program posted
Proposals for working groups must be submitted via a web-based form on the ASM Webpage at http://asm2012.lternet.edu
Proposals that do not include all required information will not be considered. The Program Committee will use the information you provide to determine which working groups will be selected and to schedule selected working groups. By submitting a working group proposal, you are making a commitment to attend the ASM and organize the working group you propose. In addition, you are making a commitment to provide information about the results, participants, and products of your working group, with a MINIMUM REQUIREMENT TO PROVIDE A REPORT FROM YOUR WORKING GROUP on the Webpage that will be generated for your working group. Tabs on the web form that is being used to submit your proposal will also allow you to provide this required information.
To submit, click on the login link before you submit your proposal. If you don’t remember your password, follow the instructions to have a new one emailed to you. If you are not sure if you are already included in the LTER Database, you can check by searching on your name in the right side-bar at: http://intranet2.lternet.edu/
If you are not listed in the LTER Personnel Database, please follow the instructions for having your name added to the LTER database.
