Northeast U.S. Shelf Long-Term Ecological Research (NES-LTER) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) Announcement for 2020
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is seeking applicants for two undergraduate fellows in summer 2020 sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). These Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) will be offered through the WHOI Summer Student Fellowship Program (http://www.whoi.edu/main/summer-student-fellowship) and the Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (http://www.woodsholediversity.org/pep/about.html). The successful applicants will join a team of scientists studying the food web of the Northeast U.S. Shelf (NES) as part of Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) (https://nes-lter.whoi.edu/). Undergraduate and graduate students involved in NES (Northeast US Shelf)-LTER research gain valuable training in not only field, lab, data management, and analytical skills, but also in collaborating in a multi-investigator/multi-disciplinary project. We offer summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) at WHOI, and there are additional opportunities for undergraduate students through the University of Rhode Island (URI) and Wellesley College.
