Project Team

Sarah Garlick, Director of Science Policy and Outreach at the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation (HBRF). Sarah is responsible for overall project direction, activities, and reports; co-leads strategic engagement planning, PES working group, and PES monitoring system.

John Besley, Ellis N. Brandt Professor, College of Communication Arts and Sciences, Michigan State University. John is responsible for LTER Network-level surveys and associated qualitative interviews.

Marty Downs, Director, LTER Network Office. Co-leads PES working group and PES monitoring system.

Peter Groffman, Professor, CUNY Advanced Science Research Center. Guides strategic engagement planning and dissemination.

Anthea Lavallee, Executive Director, Hubbard Brook Research Foundation (HBRF).  Co-leads strategic engagement planning at HBR.

Kari O’Connell, Senior Researcher, STEM Research Center, Oregon State University. Responsible for case studies of three LTER sites.

Karen Peterman, Karen Peterman Consulting, Co. Co-leads strategic engagement planning and PES monitoring system.

Martin Storksdieck, Director of the STEM Research Center, Oregon State University. Provides research guidance and serves as learning sciences and assessment expert on the team.

Pamela Templer, Professor, Department of Biology, Boston University. Guides strategic engagement planning and dissemination.
