The Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) seeks an emerging or established leader with both research and leadership skills who has a record of achievement in cold-regions research. The position requires balancing management of the Institute with a vigorous research program and a commitment to training the next generation of diverse interdisciplinary environmental scientists. The new director will be rostered in the Research & Innovation Office (RIO) and also become a tenure- or tenure-track professor in one of INSTAAR’s affiliated academic departments and programs that best suits their training and interests. Two LTER programs (Niwot Ridge and McMurdo) are housed at INSTAAR.
