The University of Minnesota’s Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve is recruiting an experienced educator with a passion for connecting learners of all ages to long-term science. The primary responsibility of this position is to design and deliver education (K-12) and community engagement (adults, families) programs that improve understanding of our planet’s ecosystems and its major environmental problems, and that increase science literacy through hands-on experiences. Additional duties include training naturalist staff and volunteers, implementing program assessment, communicating site science, and managing program budgets, including the National Science Foundation Schoolyard LTER supplement that supports this work. Work takes place primarily at the field station in East Bethel, MN and in the surrounding communities, and involves work both indoors and outdoors in natural ecosystems and experiments.
