Our multi-institutional, multi-site group mission is to enable data integration and information synthesis from the foundations of the ecological community, at the minimal organizational level (site, field station), with scalability options (up to national clearinghouse)
An activity designed to disseminate system existing knowledge to LTER Scientists and Students.
The course will cover aspects of the entire data life cycle. Best

Best choices of technologies for various tasks will be discussed and
supplemented with hands on exercises in using workflow engines,
spreadsheets vs. databases, various data streaming device setups and web
An effort to overhaul local management informatics systems with robust content management solutions, the proposed workshop will be an opportunity to further advance towards synthesis products based on the conceptual PASTA framework, where the information moves from heterogeneous, diverse forms to a unified, usable framework, with the advantage of the lower cost associated with this implementation solution.
